FIFTH AF—P‑40’s strafe Oivi and Kokoda.
ELEVENTH AF—3 B‑17’s, 2 B‑24’s, and 1 LB-30 fly bombing and
photo reconnaissance mission to Tanaga and Kanaga and also bomb Kiska. 4 of the
aircraft have mechanical trouble but all return.

USSR—German
Army Group A continues rapidly southward into Kuban area, where it is
attempting to establish bridgehead, and overruns Voroshilovsk. Soviet forces
continue to resist Army Group B in Don bend opposite Stalingrad and to attack
Germans in Rzhev sector.
